Hello World Studio is a digital education and creative studio based at helloworldstudio.co.zw. We build AI-powered learning tools, digital products, and creative resources for African and diaspora audiences. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how we use it.
Information you give us directly. When you contact us by email or through any form on this site, we collect your name and email address so we can respond to you.
Course tool data. Our interactive course tools (AI Tutor, Story Meets Machine, Music Production System, Service Station Manager) store your progress, quiz answers, and chat history in your own browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not collected or stored by Hello World Studio.
Certificates. When you generate a completion certificate, the name you enter is used only to draw the certificate image in your browser. It is not transmitted to or stored by Hello World Studio.
API keys. If you choose to enable the optional live AI chat in our course tools, you supply your own Anthropic API key. This key is stored in your browser only. Hello World Studio does not see, collect, or store it.
Website usage data. We may use Google Analytics or similar tools to understand how visitors use our site (pages visited, time spent, general location by country or region). This data is anonymised and aggregated. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.
We use the information we collect only to respond to your enquiries, fulfil licence agreements, and improve our products and services. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Our site uses minimal cookies for standard WordPress functionality. Our course tools use browser localStorage, not cookies, to save your progress. If you use the optional Google Analytics integration, it may set analytics cookies in accordance with Google’s privacy policy.
You have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, to request a copy, and to request that it be corrected or deleted. To exercise any of these rights, email us at helloworldstudiozw@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, including the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. If you are located in Zimbabwe, this policy is also written in alignment with the Zimbabwe Cyber and Data Protection Act (Chapter 12:07).
We retain email correspondence and licence agreement records for up to three years for legitimate business and legal purposes. We do not retain any data that originates from our browser-based course tools, as this data never reaches our servers.
Our site links to external services including Amazon (book listings), Anthropic (for optional AI chat), and Google Fonts. These services have their own privacy policies and we encourage you to review them. Hello World Studio is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party sites.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at helloworldstudio.co.zw/privacy-policy/. Material changes will be communicated via our contact email where we hold your details.
